ESRC SeNSS Studentships

SeNSS (South East Network for Social Sciences) is one of only 14 UK ESRC-funded Doctoral Training Partnerships and will be offering a number of full-funded ESRC doctoral studentships to start in September 2022.

The University of Kent will offer ESRC SeNSS studentships in the following subject pathways:

South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS) Studentships

SeNSS provides innovative and challenging world-class doctoral training in a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment. You will gain interdisciplinary, international and collaborative networking opportunities by joining the large cohort of fellow SeNSS students and academics.

Fully-funded SeNSS Studentships include:

  • All tuition fees (Home rates)
  • Doctoral stipend (equivalent to the Research Councils UK National Minimum Doctoral Stipend for 2021/2022 was £15,609 2022/23 to be announced).
  • Research training support grant
  • Access to further research funding
  • Kent will waive the difference between Home and International fees

How to apply

New students wishing to be considered for ESRC SeNSS funding must apply for a PhD place at the University of Kent and complete a SeNSS HEIApply application by 2 January 2022. Applicants that have not applied for a PhD place at Kent by Sunday 2 January will not be considered at the University of Kent.
