The studentship will be based in the Faculty of Public Health and Policy (PHP) which is focussed on the improvement of health throughout the UK and worldwide. Interests and activities embrace the health needs of people living in countries at all levels of development. We encompass the disciplines of epidemiology, public health medicine, economics, political science, international relations, anthropology, sociology, history, psychology, statistics and mathematics. Around 100 of our staff and students undertake health economics research and our economists have a wealth of experience in advising the UK and other national governments, international agencies and organisations.
Applicants must hold, or expect to obtain before the start of the PhD, a relevant MSc (such as Health Economics, Epidemiology or Medical Statistics) awarded with good grades, or have a combination of relevant qualifications and experience which demonstrates equivalent ability and attainment.
