World class teaching facilities with an emphasis on interdisciplinary research and the generation of impact

The University of Liverpool provides one of the largest concentrations of health and life science expertise in the UK. Students are exposed to the latest research, benefit from expert teaching and supervision, and gain highly respected University of Liverpool qualifications. Our PhD completion rates are amongst the highest in the UK; we were rated third in the UK for PhD completion in the most recent HEFCE analysis.

Liverpool is one of the most creative, inspiring and cost-effective cities in the UK. With its diverse and challenging urban health population, the city provides a valuable setting for research in the health and life sciences.

The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences covers a spectrum of health and disease related research from our world-leading research into infectious diseases, personalised medicine and drug safety to our emerging themes such as healthy living and ageing, food security and genomics to biological systems.
