Franklin funded PhD studentship

Franklin funded PhD studentship

The Rosalind Franklin Institute is a new physical sciences institute, funded by the UK government. We drive bold and innovative technology development through interdisciplinary collaborations across our research Themes. This includes 'Ruska' our new electron microscope, which can image biological samples a thousand times faster than the current standard, enabling imaging of molecules in motion.

We are looking to recruit an exceptional open-minded student, who will work on the development of instruments across our current research Themes. Our one-of-a-kind fully funded PhD programme will provide high-level interdisciplinary skills training, access to industrial collaborations through a team of world-leading supervisors and brand-new laboratory facilities.

Franklin PhD students will have a wide-ranging choice of project, which will have real-world impact and be in collaboration with universities and partners across the UK. They will receive an enhanced annual £18,000 stipend and other benefits shown here.

If you are curious about our new 4-year programme (starting October 2021), please click here to find out more and where to apply. We strongly recommend that you peruse our guidance available here for what to include in your personal statement to us.
