Fully Funded EPSRC PhD Scholarship in Physics at Swansea University

Start date: April 2020 Latest

Swansea University’s Department of Physics has a call for an immediate-start EPSRC funded scholarship in the following areas of departmental activity: atomic and molecular and quantum physics, applied and materials physics, and particle physics and cosmology theory. Specific areas of research interest in the department can be found here. Applicants interested in the intersections between atomic, quantum and molecular physics are particularly encouraged. The studentship is for immediate start and no later than April 2020.

Applications should be received before 01 March 2020, with interviews taking place as soon as possible thereafter.

Eligibility

Candidates must have a first, upper second class honours or a Masters degree with Merit (or equivalent), in a relevant discipline. Informal enquiries and queries on eligibility (including residency eligibility) for this programme may be directed to the Postgraduate Admissions Tutor, Dr Ardalan Armin ([email protected]) who can then also direct to potential supervisors.

For candidates whose first language is not English, we require IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in each component) or equivalent. Please visit our website for a list of acceptable English language tests. We prefer candidates to have already met the English Language requirements at the point of application, although this is not a requirement. Studentships funded by EPSRC are subject to UK/EU residency eligibility. Applicants not meeting these requirements will be ineligible.

Funding

This is a three year fully-funded scholarship which covers UK/EU tuition fees and an annual stipend of £15,009.

How to Apply

To apply for this studentship, please download the College of Science research scholarship application form and return it to the College of Science with the following:

  • Academic References – all scholarship applications require two supporting references to be submitted.
