Fully Funded KAUST Discovery Doctoral Fellowship

The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) with support from the European Science Foundation (ESF) has launched a competitive doctoral fellowship scheme for students from Europe and North America commencing their program of study in 2022. In addition to access to the world-class faculty and facilities for which KAUST is known, the selected applicants will receive both free tuition and generous stipends for PhD studies.

Proposed research can be within any topical area of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) represented within the three academic divisions of KAUST:

• Biological and Environmental Sciences and Engineering (BESE)
• Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering (CEMSE)
• Physical Sciences and Engineering (PSE)

Applications will be evaluated via an independent peer-review process managed by the ESF.

FELLOWSHIP BENEFITS

Selected applicants receive a generous package which enhances the existing KAUST Fellowship. The duration of the Fellowship is 3 years and worth around USD 95,000 per year. It includes:

• Living Allowance (USD 38,000 per year)
• Supplementary Research Grant (USD 6,000 over 3 years)
• Free Tuition (worth USD 35,000)
• On-Campus Housing and Utilities
• Medical Insurance (USD 15,000)
• Relocation costs (including visa & airfare)
