A number of Postgraduate Research Studentships are available within the School of Mathematics and Physics for home and EU students enrolling in 2020. A small number will be suitable for International students.

A minimum 2.1 honours degree or equivalent in mathematics, physics, astrophysics, chemistry, or engineering or relevant degree is required.
The School of Mathematics and Physics offers a number of full-time PhD studentships at Queen’s University Belfast. These 3 year and 3.5 year PhD studentships, potentially funded by the Department for the Economy (DfE), Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) commence on 1 October 2020.
Conditions on awards with eligibility for both fees and maintenance depends on the applicants being either an ordinary UK resident or those EU residents who have lived permanently in the UK for the 3 years immediately preceding the start of the studentship. Non UK residents who hold EU residency may also apply but if successful may receive fees only.
