IRB Barcelona is recruiting highly motivated and talented students to its International PhD Programme. Up to 13 fellowships are available for the academic year 2024-2025. The following fellowships are offered:
5 fellowships co-funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Work Programme under grant agreement No. 101126676.
Up to 8 positions associated with the “Proyectos de Generación de Conocimiento 2023” Call (funded by the Agencia Estatal de Investigación AEI-MICINN).
The deadline for applications is 5 January 2024, 15:00 CET. Candidates should join IRB Barcelona by September 2024.
IRB Barcelona is a vibrant, multidisciplinary institute where scientists address challenging and pressing biomedical problems in a collaborative fashion to provide groundbreaking solutions to unmet medical needs.
IRB Barcelona’s International PhD Programme is aimed at talented young researchers wishing to undertake their PhD theses in one of its 28 state-of-the-art laboratories, which tackle cutting-edge topics in cancer/metastasis, ageing and cell reprogramming, metabolism, cell differentiation, and genomics, among others. In the context of inter- and multi-disciplinary collaboration between groups, countries (more than 100 international collaborations) and sectors (academy, industry and hospitals), IRB Barcelona offers customised training and ample career development opportunities.
IRB Barcelona is located in the Barcelona Science Park, a centre in which first-class public research converges with the private sector in a stimulating, vanguard scientific environment.
IRB Barcelona currently consists of 28 research groups, which are organised into 6 integrative research nodes:
Chemical and Structural Biology
Computational Biology
Invertebrate Models of Disease
Cell Pathophysiology
Preclinical Models of Cancer
Preclinical Models of Disease
Well-equipped laboratories are complemented by a network of technical services, including advanced optical microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), proteomics and transcriptomics units, a high-throughput crystallography platform and an animal facility. Our researchers work in a stimulating environment that promotes research of excellence in biomedicine at the interface between structural biology, chemistry and biology.
