Leverhulme Trust Doctoral Scholarships 2021 – Extinction Studies

Leverhulme Trust Doctoral Scholarships 2021 – Extinction Studies

7 Leverhulme Trust Doctoral Scholarships are available for Home fee-rated students for Session 2021/22 of study.

Extinction is one of the great challenges of our times. As part of a new doctoral training programme, hosted at the University of Leeds, we are offering full funding for students to work on topics relating to extinction and its meanings, histories and legacies.

Working both individually and collaboratively, you will have the opportunity to explore the rich connections between the biological, cultural and social meanings of the global extinction crisis, and to clarify the responses and impacts that extinction is currently having upon societies and cultures across the world.

Closing date for application forms 17:00 (UK time) Friday 26th February 2021

Duration of the Award

Full-time (3 years). The award will be made for one year in the first instance and renewable for a further period of up to two years, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Funding

  • These awards are available to Home fee-rated applicants
  • EU students with settled status in the UK are also eligible to apply. International fee-rated students are welcome to apply, but must have alternative sources of funding
  • The awards provide a maintenance grant at the standard UKRI rate (£15,609 in Session 2021/22).
