The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research is an international community of distinguished scientists dedicated to preventing and controlling cancer. Our Branch at the University of Oxford has a range of exciting opportunities for exceptional students to join us in a world-class research environment at the UK’s premier university for medical research. We can offer fully funded 4-year PhD scholarships available at both home and international fee rates, with a tax-free stipend of £21,000 pa, commencing October 2024.

Old Road Campus

The Old Road Campus is at the heart of the University of Oxford’s world-leading biomedical research and the University’s partnership with local hospitals means that science and medical care are closely integrated.

The Old Road Campus is home to the Churchill Hospital including its £100m cancer hospital, The Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genomics, the Richard Doll Building (housing epidemiological studies and clinical trials services), and the NDM Research Building, Target Discovery Institute, Kennedy Institute and Big Data Institute.
