Research Fields:

  • Engineering Sciences - Programs offered by the Faculty of Engineering Sciences are designed to provide a fundamental approach to basic engineering principles with emphasis on scientific methods. The aim of coursework and research projects is to develop individuals capable of creative work in engineering science and areas of specialization in engineering research and development or teaching.
  • Desert Studies - The Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research (BIDR) are acknowledged leaders in desert studies, widely respected in the international scientific community for the quality and creativity of their research and training programs. In light of this global reputation and the worldwide need for expertise in the study of drylands, the Albert Katz International School for Desert Studies was established, offering programs leading to Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Desert Studies, and Hydrology & Water Technologies.
  • Health Sciences - The University Center Sciences includes the medical school, the Recanati School for Community Health Professions, and postgraduate programs for basic health sciences, social sciences, health economics, and medical epidemiology. This innovative educational program has attracted international recognition and the Center was named a Collaborating Institute by the World Health Organization during its first period of existence.
  • Humanities and Social Sciences - The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Arts degree in the Departments of Behavioral Sciences, Bible and Ancient Near-Eastern Studies, Hebrew Language, Hebrew Literature, History, and Philosophy.
  • Natural Sciences - The Faculty of Natural Sciences continuously strives for excellence in research. Sophisticated, state-of-the-art laboratories have been built up, and although far from complete, contain equipment vital to the development of this region. The spectrum of scientific endeavor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences ranges from computer science to biotechnology; from polymers to lasers. High-tech industrial applications in electronics, computers and electro-optics, and transformation of the natural resources of the Negev into the modern industrial powerhouse of the state are actively pursued.
  • Management - Cutting edge relevant research, challenging learning environment and international recognition are the pillars of the Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business & Management (GGFBM) strategy. Providing the best possible management training and equipping students with state of the art thinking tools to cope with the business challenges they will be facing throughout the frequently changing local and global business and management world and its varying sectors.
