PhD Opportunities at Cass Business School

Cass Business School's faculty comprises over 100 research-active scholars. Many of our faculty hold impressive academic credentials – they are editors of influential journals, and highly-cited researchers. We draw our PhD supervisors from this pool of research talent. Each student is allocated two or more dedicated supervisors who will guide their research and foster their development as academic researchers.

Entry requirement and how to apply

You must hold a first degree (a first class or equivalent) in a subject related to your proposed research topic. In addition the following qualifications would enhance your likelihood of being accepted:

  • Masters degree from a leading institution with a distinction or equivalent
  • GMAT score (700 or more) if you do not have UK and EU degree

You should also submit a research proposal outlining details of your intended research. This is an important part of your application and before submitting it please familiarise yourself with the research interests of our Cass experts.

Funding

Every year we offer several Doctoral Training Fellowships. Those are allocated on competitive basis across the school. Please see our website for more details.

Executive PhD programme

Cass has also developed a unique Executive PhD. The programme is designed to be flexible, to enable busy executives to undertake a PhD, without having to take a career break. It is designed for senior executives working in industry, government or not-for-profit sectors who want a qualification that is highly practical and relevant to their organisation.
