About the National Institute of Education

The National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore, is an autonomous institute within the Nanyang Technological University. It is Singapore’s only national teacher education institute and is an integral part of the nation’s education system. Offering multidisciplinary programmes, the institute empowers students to analyse, tackle, and resolve challenges in various careers pathways, both within and beyond the realm of education. NIE’s unique position within a research-intensive technological university promotes an interdisciplinary approach to research.

With a long tradition of innovation in teacher education, our graduate programmes have contributed to the academic and professional development of thousands of educators.
