The call for applications 2019/2020 of the PhD in Law at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa is open until the 15th of May 2019. The available positions are 5. Scuola Sant’Anna offers students interested in achieving the highest level of academic education a lively international setting in the leading Italian University.
The course aims at training scholars capable of critical thinking and innovative research in their respective fields of interest, at the forefront of the international debate.
Over the three-year program, PhD students are offered a wide range of courses, in order to ensure a rich interdisciplinary perspective and a sound methodological competence. Students are also engaged in seminars, workshops, conferences as well as in the research activities pursued at the Scuola: a number of world leading scholars are met by the community at the Scuola and a dense network of institutional relations make for a unique international environment.
The PhD program covers the following broad research areas: Private Law, Comparative Private Law, Comparative Public Law, Constitutional Law, Applied Legal Theory & Global Law Studies, Criminal justice.

The amount of the scholarship is 15.343,28 euros per year, including social security charges, tuition fees, one meal at the school canteen per day (Monday to Saturday). An additional economic subsidy is provided for study abroad periods (up to six months).
Applications are received from candidates who hold a MSc degree (or equivalent qualification), or who expect to achieve this qualification by October 31st 2019.
Candidates are selected after an assessment of the qualifications presented (Curriculum vitae and research project proposal) and an interview.
