University of Surrey Centre for Quantum Biology fully-funded studentships

The University of Surrey’s Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS) and Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (FHMS) are delighted to announce new cross-disciplinary PhD studentships within the Centre for Quantum Biology for 2023. We are seeking outstanding PhD candidates to undertake fully funded (3.5 year) studentships.

We are offering four innovative Faculty-funded research projects that build on the expertise already established via our Quantum Biology Centre for Doctoral Training. Candidates can apply for up to two of the projects.

Funding package

UKRI-aligned stipend (£17,668 pa for 2022-23), approved University of Surrey fees and a research budget.

Open to any UK or international candidates. Up to 30% of our University funded studentships can be awarded to candidates paying international rate fees. Find out more about eligibility.

How to apply

You may apply for 1 or 2 of these Faculty Funded studentships. A single online application should be submitted via the application portal for the Quantum Biology PhD programme.

N.B. Please select the October 2023 start date when applying.

When completing your application, in place of a research proposal, please provide a 1-page document containing the reference numbers(s), project title(s) and supervisor name(s) of the project or two projects you have selected, together with an explanation of your motivations for wanting to study for a PhD and your reasons for selecting the project(s) you have chosen.

To complete a full application, you MUST also email a copy of your CV and 1-page motivational statement directly to the relevant project principal supervisor of each project you apply for.
