Several post graduate research (PGR) studentships (MD/MPhil/PhD) are available in the Division of Cancer and Genetics (DCG), Cardiff University School of Medicine to start in 2023. We are looking for suitable candidates that have personal scholarships or self-funding.

Background about the Division of Cancer and Genetics

The Division of Cancer and Genetics (DCG) is one of five research Divisions in the School of Medicine, based at the Heath Park Campus, Cardiff. It has around 121 staff and 45 PGR students, housed in several research buildings with well-equipped laboratories.

Application Process

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated students with an interest in Cancer or genomic research. Applicants should possess a minimum of an upper second-class Honours degree, master's degree, or equivalent in a relevant subject.

Applicants whose first language is not English are normally expected to meet the minimum University requirements (e.g. 6.5 IELTS)

In the ‘Research Proposal’ section of the application enter the name of the project you are applying to. Candidates must submit the following information:

• Supporting statement
• CV
• Qualification certificates
• Proof of Funding i.e. a letter of intent from your sponsor or confirmation of self-funded status.
• References x2
• Proof of English language (if applicable)
