PhD Studentships in Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Optometry

Four new fully funded PhD research studentships are offered in the School of Applied Sciences for an October 2022 start. The School is made up of the Departments of Biological & Geographical Sciences Chemical Sciences, Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences and Optometry. There is competition funding for 4 of the 15 research projects outlined below.

Shortlisted candidates should be prepared for a MSTeams interview during July and opportunity to visit the School on a date to be agreed with the potential supervisor.

The studentships are open to citizens of the UK and cover the full cost of tuition fees and an annual tax-free bursary of £16,062 for three years (RCUK rates). Successful applicants should have a first or upper second undergraduate degree or Masters degree in a relevant subject.
