The James Watt School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, is dedicated to supporting greater diversity in engineering. To enable this mission, the Mary Gibb Dunlop Scholarships have been established to support exceptional female academics (and those identifying as female) to undertake postgraduate research within the James Watt School of Engineering. Applications for full or part-time doctoral research within the school are welcomed. The scholarships, available for October 2022, provide 3.5 years stipend at UKRI rates and tuition fees for UK and international students.

The University of Glasgow is home to an internationally leading research portfolio, an enviable graduate training programme and a long-standing reputation for excellence, making it an incredibly vibrant environment for researchers. It has world class and unique facilities, internationally established research leaders, a strong Postgraduate Research population and a culture of innovation and enterprise.

The James Watt School of Engineering (JWSE) at the University of Glasgow is an energetic and growing international centre of excellence for Engineering research. The School leads research in five Divisions: Autonomous Systems and Connectivity; Biomedical Engineering; Electronics and Nanoscale Engineering; Infrastructure and Environment; and Systems, Power and Energy.
