The renowned Professional Doctorate in Health programme at the University of Bath is a part-time distance learning programme, designed specifically to help develop research and leadership skills in health and social care.
The programme offers health professionals, academics and researchers the opportunity to work towards a Doctoral qualification. Students can qualify with the Professional Doctorate in Health, or follow a transfer route and exit with a PhD.

There are two summers schools that you will be required to attend. The first is at the beginning of your studies, and the second is at the beginning of year two of your studies. The Summer School is an excellent opportunity for Professional Doctorate in Health students to undertake face-to-face study whilst working towards their qualification.

The next Professional Doctorate in Health Summer School will take place from 7-11 September 2020.
We recognise that many of our students are in demanding full-time health or social care jobs. The Professional Doctorate in Health is designed to be flexible and supportive in order to accommodate these demands. Students commit approximately 15 hours per-week (on average) to their studies.
Applications will open in September 2019. The application deadline is 31 May 2020.
