You can now apply for one of our seven fully funded PhD studentships as part of our EPSRC Prosperity Partnership ZENITH. ZENITH (Zero emission: the next generation of integrated technologies for hydrogen) is a new partnership between the University of Bath and GKN Aerospace.
The 3.5-year funded studentships offer an enhanced stipend of £21,010 a year for Home students. £13,890 a year is available for international students through the Vice Chancellor Internationals Scholarships.
Based in our Department of Mechanical Engineering, you’ll work with four post-doctoral researchers and supervisors from a team of 15 academics and 11 industrial specialists.
Net zero targets and ageing aircraft fleets are disrupting the aerospace sector. ZENITH aims to address this by positioning the UK as a leader in emerging zero emission aircraft. The project will develop new fundamental knowledge and solutions in hydrogen energy storage and structures technologies. The results will contribute to the UK’s aerospace industries and 2050 net zero targets.
