Techne Doctoral Training Partnership
Techne Doctoral Training Partnership is pleased to offer Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funding for up to 57 PhD students for September 2024 entry.
We welcome applications from talented individuals working across the arts and humanities to be based at one of nine higher education institutions in London and the south-east, Brunel University, Kingston University, Loughborough University London, Royal Holloway University of London, University of the Arts London, University of Brighton, University of Roehampton, University of Surrey, and the University of Westminster. The world-class research and training environments of these institutions are enhanced by the partnership’s strategic relations with 13 non-HEI partner organisations ranging from The National Archives to the National Trust.
The vision and the training offered by Techne emphasises the interweaving of critical thinking, making, and reflexive action in the craft of research. More information on our areas of study can be found on our website.
There will be an on-line open evening hosted by the University of Westminster on 27th September 2023. This is an opportunity to meet Academics from our institutions in your subject area or from an institution you are interested in studying at. Please register on Eventbrite.
Awards cover UK tuition fees and provide a stipend at the UKRI rate. The UK fees and stipend for 2024/25 have not yet been announced but for the academic year of 2023/24 the UK fees are £4,712 and the stipend is £18,622 (£20,622 if London weighting applies). International students will need to speak to the Administrator at their prospective Techne institution to see whether the difference between the home and international fee can be provided.
How to Apply
Please contact one of our Administrators at the Techne institution of your choice as each of our institutions has a different deadline and process for applications.
These PhDs are open to UK and international students and consist of UK home fees and stipend awards.
Initial contact details at each member university and full details of how to apply are on the Techne website, but if you have questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
