The Alexander Silberman Institute of Life Sciences

The Institute of Life Sciences is one of Israel’s foremost centers of scientific investigation. Encompassing 74 research groups, our renowned scholars conduct ground-breaking research across a broad spectrum of fields, including biotechnology & bioengineering, biological chemistry, ecology & evolution, genetics, genomics & computational biology, and much more. The Institute has established 5 interdisciplinary and pioneering research centers, which bring together scientists of diverse backgrounds to explore a common theme in the areas of pain research, movement ecology, marine sciences, psychobiology, and applied structural biology.

The Institute of Life Sciences aims to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and methodological tools across all fields of life sciences, through an interdisciplinary approach combining basic research with practical aspects in the fields of biomedicine, biotechnology, and agriculture. We collaborate with researchers in Israel and abroad, examining countless mechanisms in order to better understand their impact on everyday life.
