Fully funded PhD research fellowships between France and Australia

AUFRANDE is a unique PhD program co-funded by the European Union (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions), that brings together 37 research centres in France and Australia, and over 40 non-academic partners.

AUFRANDE is looking for 35 PhD candidates who will be working on their unique research projects, benefitting of excellent working conditions, a personalised supervision from experienced researchers, mentoring and support from the industry, international experience and numerous networking opportunities.

Being an AUFRANDE researcher

The successful candidate will:

  • Be enrolled in doctoral programs at 2 entities in France and Australia, with the chance to be awarded dual doctorates
  • Work on innovative projects of high commercial and societal value
  • Be recruited under a French employment contract including social security coverage
  • Be employed full-time for a minimum of 36-months
  • Earn an above-national standard salary
  • See the world with once-in-a-lifetime experience, including a 6 to 12 months stay in Australia
  • Participate in workshops and conferences, including AUFRANDE annual training schools
  • Form part of a rich multidisciplinary network of researchers
  • Work closely and gain experience with the AUFRANDE’s pool of industry leaders

We offer 35 fully-funded scholarships in a wide bunch of research fields including Physics, Mechanics, Chemistry, Photonics, Optical physics, Fluid Mechanics, Energy, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Geosciences, and more.

Applicants must satisfy the following eligibility requirements at the time of their recruitment:

  • Not have resided in France for more than 12 months in the previous 3 years;
  • Not have been awarded a doctoral degree;
  • Be fluent in English;
  • Comply with the 2 host Universities' admissions requirements for PhD study.
