As part of the SeNSS Doctoral Training Partnership, the University of Sussex is pleased to offer research scholarships in the following fields:

What is SeNSS?

• Have your fees paid and receive a living allowance (currently £17,668 pa).
• Be eligible to apply for further funding for research expenses, (conference trips, overseas fieldwork, language training or other skills integral to your research project).

• Have the opportunity to undertake an internship with a highly influential non-academic policy organisation.
• Benefit from research and practical expertise available across the SeNSS institutions, via research networks, attending or running specialist training events, joint or additional supervision and the annual conference.

How to apply

SeNSS studentships are open to UK and non-UK students and we are able to offer a small number of full scholarships to international candidates.

The scholarships can be awarded for a period of three to four years, with those without an appropriate MSc following the 1+3 route (MSc followed by PhD).

To apply for a SeNSS scholarship for autumn 2023 you must first apply for a place on a PhD course at the University of Sussex:

The deadline for Sussex applications is 12.00 noon GMT on 6^thJanuary 2023.

After applying to Sussex you can work with your supervisor to apply to the ESRC SeNSS through their online system.

The deadline for SeNSS scholarship applications is 12.00 noon GMT on 20^th January 2023.
