ULMS PhD Management Funding Call: October 2023 entry

The University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS) is inviting applications from prospective Management PhD candidates with an outstanding academic achievement and research potential for a number of 4-year GTF Studentships (Graduate Teaching Fellowships) starting in the 2023/24 academic year.

These studentships provide an excellent opportunity to pursue your PhD studies at one of UK’s leading research institutions with international recognition and receive substantial financial support as well as intense research and teaching training in preparation for launching your academic career.

The University of Liverpool Management School

The University of Liverpool Management School is part of the UK’s Russel Group of leading research universities and one of an elite group of institutions worldwide to hold the gold standard triple-accreditation from AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. The UK Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 ranked ULMS 12th in the sector for its high-quality research output and 9th in terms of Research Power.

4-year Graduate Teaching Fellowships (GTFs) in Management

The Graduate Teaching Fellowships provide an opportunity for applicants with a Master’s degree (preferably a Distinction grade) in a relevant subject and a strong commitment to research, to combine acquisition of teaching experience with studying for a PhD in the following subject areas: (1) Marketing, (2) Operations and Supply Chain Management, (3) Strategy, International Business & Entrepreneurship, (4) Work Organisation & Management.

Participating in the Scheme will enable GTFs to attain funding for their doctoral research whilst receiving training and mentoring to become rounded academics. In addition to conducting their research, they will have the opportunity to contribute to ULMS’s dynamic research culture and to the delivery of an outstanding learning experience for students in the School.

Research themes within each Subject Group

Interested applicants are encouraged to check out the subject group and staff profiles in each group to identify fit with the topics they plan to study as well as nominating potential supervisors. It is ecouraged that candidates contact potential ULMS supervisors before the deadline to explore whether collaboration can be initiated.

How to Apply

Applicants must complete all sections of the University Postgraduate Study Application Form. Applications are to be made via the University of Liverpool Apply Online system, selecting as programme of study Management Studies.

In the Finance section select funding source Sponsor and insert ‘PHD-GTF-ULMS-2023 studentship’ in the box below.
