About the Programme

The Business & Management Research Institute (BMRI - manages research in the University of Bedfordshire Business school. It has five smaller research centres that specialise in important areas relevant to business research. BMRI participated in the last two rounds of Research Excellence Framework (REF), with substantially improved performance in REF2014 compared to RAE2008. It is poised to submit a stronger return for REF2021. BMRI has been very research active with a number of research projects from European, UK and international research funders.

BMRI's research strategy includes (i) strengthening the research culture in the business school, (ii) demonstrating an improved contribution to research, (iii) developing and implementing clear approaches to generate research impact, (iv) developing research informed teaching and curricula, (v) increasing research and enterprise income by securing external funding, (vi) enhance the supervision capability of the Business School, and (vii) providing an environment conducive to interdisciplinary research.
