Eligibility criteria
- Applications will be considered based on the quality of the research proposal and its alignment with the focus outlined below. The strengths of the individual candidate in relation to academic competence and commitment will be considered.
- You must have applied for both a place on the PhD programme as well as a scholarship by the scholarship application deadline of 31 May 2023.
Scholarship Focus
Applications are invited in the following research areas:
- Services marketing and consumer behaviour in the service recovery process
- Entrepreneurship and innovation in SMEs
- Optimal fiscal policies and the barriers to implementing these
- Community of practice and business resilience
- Digitisation of information and managerial implications
- Corporate governance, international accounting, and sustainability
- Heritage tourism
- Tourism, hospitality and events
How to apply
You will be required to submit a research proposal using the below application link. We recommend that you discuss your proposal with a member of the Faculty before application. After application you will be asked to interview with a potential supervisor in the Faculty.

- Click on the Apply now button in the blue bar at the bottom of the page
- Select ‘Business and Management, Tourism, Hospitality and Events’ for the area of research
- Select your subject area
- Select the award
- Select your preferred mode of study and your preferred start date
- Tick the box on the proposal form to indicate an application for a scholarship alongside a place on the PhD programme
