Funding
The Department of Economics at the University of Sheffield is looking for talented graduates or postgraduates for fully funded 3-year PhD scholarships starting in October 2019.
The scholarships are funded by the Department of Economics at the University of Sheffield which is looking for PhD students to support and collaborate on active research within the department in one the following research areas:
- Economics of education and work
- Economics of health and wellbeing
- Economics of the firm organisation and governance
- Economics of household finance
- Macroeconomics, finance and development
Scholarships cover tuition fees, an annual stipend of £14,777, have their fees paid and a research training grant.
International students from outside of the EU are welcome to apply, however there are fewer funding opportunities available.
These are competitive opportunities based on your application and thesis proposal.
Eligibility
- Our department research scholarship is open to UK, EU and overseas applicants.
- Applicants should have experience of data handling and relevant analytical methods, preferably using STATA.
- Applicants should normally possess, or expect to obtain, a masters degree in an appropriate subject (with good passes across modules) and also have an upper second or first class honours degree in an appropriate subject. A strong economics background is essential.
- A high standard of spoken and written English.
