The Open University Business and Law Schools invite applications for a number of full-time funded PhD studentships beginning 1 October 2019. In order to be considered for a full-time funded studentship your application should preferably be based on one of the advertised projects described at http://business-school.open.ac.uk/research/research-degrees/phd-studentships. Other topics may be considered subject to supervision availability.
This is a full-time three-year studentship based at the Milton Keynes campus. Students are normally expected to live within commuting distance of Milton Keynes. The studentships cover tuition fees, a generous research training support grant and a stipend (circa £14,777 per annum) for 36 months.
Applicants for the PhD programme should have minimum qualifications of an upper second class honours degree 2:1 (or an equivalent) and usually a specialist masters in a subject relevant to the intended study with a strong research element.
Your application should comprise a 1000-word research proposal and a covering letter outlining your suitability for your chosen project. We must also receive a completed application form and copies of relevant degree certificates and transcripts before we can consider your application.
Further details of the individual projects and how to apply can be found via the Business School link above.
Interviews will form part of the selection process and are to be held in May 2019 in person (or via web conference if required). PhD applicants are expected to give a 15 minute PowerPoint presentation about their proposal, followed by a question and answer session.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Thursday 11 April 2019.
