Applications are invited for PhD studentships to start in October 2021 or January 2022. The projects will be based in the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering at Loughborough University.

The School is committed to investing in the next generation of exceptional researchers, and applications are welcomed from high calibre students wishing to pursue research in the following areas:

Entry requirements:

Applicants should have or expect to achieve a 2:1 or first-class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Previous applicants have held degrees in civil engineering, physics, mathematics, chemistry, transport, geography and building services engineering. A relevant master’s degree and/or employment experience will be an advantage.

Funding Notes

Each three-year studentship provides a tax-free stipend of £15,285 a year (2020/21 rate) for the duration of the studentship plus tuition fees at the home rate. Non-UK applicants may apply for these positions; funding will cover tuition fees at the international rate in full, but you will need to secure funding for your living costs. Please note that studentships will be awarded on a competitive basis to applicants who have applied to this project and other advertised projects within the School. Funding decisions will not be confirmed until early 2021.
