Funded PhD opportunities in Geography (competition funded, Home/EU)
Each year, Geography and Environment advertises specific topics and projects for which prospective students may apply (see the link below). Alternatively, some students may wish to submit an application with a topic and project design of their choice. Indeed, we encourage this in the case of Human Geography students. Please follow the application guidance as per the advertised topics and projects, but in addition you will be required to submit a Research Proposal. There is no official format, but we suggest a minimum of 1000 words and coverage of the following items: the research problem, the context that makes the research problem important and relevant, the aims and objectives, potential research questions, and likely research methods.
Candidates must have or expect to gain a first or strong upper second class degree, in an appropriate discipline, not necessarily Geography.
