Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM), a French business school with the triple accreditation from AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA, awards degrees at bachelor, master and doctoral levels (BIB, MIB, MBA, MSc, DBA and PhD). Located in a vibrant metropolitan area of France, featuring major research centers, universities, and high tech industries, the school is expanding its international research faculty and is looking to recruit PhD students for the 2020 intake of its PhD program. The PhD Program is taught in English and full-time stipends are available for most students. Alternative Forms of Markets and Organizations(AFMO) team investigates social and environmental innovations, alternative forms of organizations, the crafting of organizations, and the production/consumption of management knowledge.
Consumer Behavior team investigates psychological processes underlying consumption in the areas of deliberate and automatic information and sensory processing, food consumption, and social marketing.
Energy Management team combines research on strategic management, technology innovation, and energy policy to create and share knowledge that will help businesses and society move towards a low-carbon future.
Entrepreneurship team focuses on knowledge creation and recombination, resource acquisition, learning, and collaboration at the individual, organizational, and regional level.
Finance, Innovation, and Governance team focuses on financing and valuing innovative companies, governance styles in innovative companies, and the impact of regulatory measures.
Marketing Strategy and Innovation team produces relevant and rigorous research to provide insights companies can leverage when they engage with their markets. The team has expertise in innovation processes, online advertising, and customer relationship management.
Organizations, Work, Identity, and Careers(OWIC) team is interested in a wide array of subjects from work and non-work life to career and cultural research.
Strategy, Collective Action, and Technology(SCAT) team focuses on strategy research through the study of business modelling, dynamics of collective cognition, inter-organizational relations, and connections between technology and strategy.
GEM PhD Program is focused on quality and ensures students' research production through high-quality supervision and training.

GEM PhD Program General Information
GEM PhD program lasts 4-5 years: years 1-2 consist of 300 hours of methodological and theory courses, seminars, and joint research projects. The remaining 2-3 years are devoted to dissertation work (paper-based, integrating three articles that are either published or of publishable level). Upon entry, students join a research team to develop individual and collaborative research. PhD students collaborate with faculty on independent research projects, have the opportunity to teach and support faculty with teaching activities. GEM offers an inspiring and collegial environment that helps developing the range of skills required for a successful academic career. PhD students are regular employees with a contract that is renewed annually pending satisfactory performance.
