Profile Description

Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) has the triple accreditation AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA and awards degrees at bachelor, master and doctoral levels, BIB, MIB, MBA, MSc, DBA and PhD. Located in a vibrant and growing metropolitan area of France, featuring major research centers and universities in high tech industries, the school is expanding its international research faculty and students and is looking to recruit PhD students for the 2019 intake of its PhD program. The PhD Program is run in English and full-time stipends are available for some students. The offered position has a specialization in Consumer Behavior and the PhD will participate in a joint project with a German university (funded by the ANR and DFG). The project focus is on consumer animosity towards certain countries and explores the mechanisms by which such negative feelings trigger rejection of products or services that are associated with the target countries.

The project adopts a multi-method approach, including implicit and more explicit mechanisms as well as different social and cross-cultural contexts. The PhD will manage two work packages and collaborate in a team of researchers, distinguished scholars, and experts. The funding for the project is ensured and provides resources for research, travel or dissemination largely exceeding those of a regular PhD student in the program. The PhD at Grenoble Ecole De Management is focused on quality and ensures the research production of students through high-quality supervision and training. It is a 4-year program: Apart from the project-related activities, the first two years consist of courses, seminars plus joint research projects with faculty members and ends with a comprehensive examination. The remaining 2 years are devoted to dissertation work and the dissemination of the project results. The marketing department has a diverse internationally minded faculty and a vibrant intellectual environment nourished by debate and exchange among the faculty team. The applications deadline is April 28th, 2019. Potential candidates should be familiar with or interested in experimental research. Candidates should also be experienced inquantitative methods and have advanced organizational skills.
