Join a leading Business School
Postgraduate students at UEA's Norwich Business School get more than just a PhD. They get the chance to make real advances with world-leading research teams, at a university ranked 10th in the UK for the quality of its research outputs (REF 2014). You'll join a World Top 200 university (THE World University Rankings 2020), based in a lively, unique and historic city. And through the UEA Doctoral College, you'll receive the support and encouragement you need to achieve all your research aims.
Norwich Business School can offer you these opportunities even if you don't have any research experience. Those yet to fully develop their research technique can take the Master of Research degree, while those with more experience can register for a PhD straight away.
Faculty of Social Sciences Graduate School Research PhD Studentships are offered to prospective candidates for the academic year 2020-21. The Studentships will be available under the Scheme to applicants who, in their research proposal, can clearly demonstrate academic excellence in areas relevant to the strategic interests of the Norwich Business School. Please see our Academic Profiles for the research groups and interests of individual members of staff.
Applications for all studentships are invited from suitably qualified graduates. Candidates applying for PhD studentships should hold, or expect to hold, relevant undergraduate (2:1) and Master's degrees (65%) including some research experience. Candidates applying for a 1+3 studentship should hold or expect to hold a relevant undergraduate degree. Candidates who have studied outside of the UK should typically hold, or expect to hold, qualifications at an equivalent level to those mentioned above. Candidates will be interviewed, usually via telephone or Skype, as part of the selection process. EU and International applicants may be required to provide evidence of competence in the English Language. To be considered for this award, you should make an online application for admission to a PhD but you should indicate the intention to be considered for an open studentship under the Postgraduate Studentships Scheme. In the application you should indicate whom would be a potential supervisor. Please contact the Postgraduate Research Director Dr Pinar Guven Uslu ([email protected] ), to discuss and develop the best possible proposal and application.
