 Funded PhD Programme (Students Worldwide)

About the Programme

The School of Education at the University of Brighton is inviting research applicants to join our research community through the Professional Doctorate in Education (EdD). This programme, now in its twentieth year, provides a flexible, part-time route into professionally relevant doctoral study for a wide range of professionals with education as a component of their role and/or context. Since 2010, the University of Brighton's EdD has also been offered in Mauritius in partnership with the Mauritian Institute of Education.

We welcome applications to study for either programme, particularly across the broad themes that are supported through our Research and Enterprise Groups:

  • Teaching, Learning and Professional Lives
  • Narrative and Biographical Methodologies in Education
  • Voice and Participation in Childhood and Education

These doctoral study opportunities do not have funding attached. You will need to have your own means of paying fees and living costs and/or seek separate funding from student finance, charities or trusts.

To discuss EdD opportunities, email Dr Nadia Edmond.

Apply online.
