About the Programme

The University of Stavanger invites applicants for a Ph.D fellowship in risk analysis and game theory at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Safety, Economics and Planning.

This is a trainee position that will give promising researchers an opportunity for academic development leading to a doctoral degree.

The appointment is for three years, with six months of PhD courses and research duties exclusively.

The research fellowship will finance a PhD project within risk analysis and game theory. The applicant may choose whether or not to submit a proposal for a possible doctoral project. Possible topics and project description can be obtained by contacting the responsible contact person listed below. The project should be both empirical and theoretical.

Project proposal
As an applicant, you may prepare a preliminary project proposal for a doctoral project within the subject area, which explains the problem, relevance, theoretical and methodological approach. Your preliminary project proposal will be included in the application assessment. During the first three months of the employment period, the project proposal will be further developed in cooperation with your supervisors and completed for the final project description.
