Profile Description

Project description:

This award provides full fees and a maintenance stipend for up to 5 years of study, for the MRes and PhD in your chosen discipline.
• One year MRes programme.
• Progression to full-time PhD programme (subject to meeting progression criteria).
• Concurrent employment as Postgraduate Teaching Assistant.

The Teaching PhD Bursary provides a pathway for individuals with a proven track record of excellence and success – whether inside or outside of academia – to become successful research-active academics in a high-quality teaching environment.

The first year is designed to deliver comprehensive research training to equip students with the required methods, techniques and specialist subject knowledge to enable graduates to understand and conduct high quality research in Management. Upon successful completion of the MRes, which includes writing a research dissertation, and subject to meeting the PhD entry criteria, students will move to a full-time PhD programme under the supervision of leading academics in the field.

Over the course of the programme, students will have the chance to work closely with leading academics from the University of Exeter Business School, who produce world-leading research in the field of management. This includes a wide variety of topics such as Leadership, Well-being, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour, Marketing, Social Networks, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Technology and Business, Operations, Strategy, and International Business. Students will be supervised by experts in their chosen field and will receive mentoring and support throughout the programme.

Concurrently, the Teaching PhD bursary allows students to gain teaching experience and achieve teaching excellence by providing high levels of professional support and teaching-related mentoring.

We are looking for individuals who have a proven track record of excellence and success and the potential to become outstanding researchers and teachers. While evidence of academic competence is essential, demonstrated excellence outside of academia (in business, government, the charitable sector etc.) will be very positively regarded.
