We are currently recruiting a PhD candidate to join the School of Psychology at the University of Nottingham. The successful candidate will be jointly supervised by Dr Deborah Serrien (Psychology) and Dr Ayse Kucukyilmaz (Computer Science).
Project Description:
The dimensions of space, time and number represent fundamental aspects that underlie how we perceive and understand the world around us. The space-time-number dimensions are strongly interwoven in the brain and it is through our actions that these connections become aligned by means of a common metric alongside bidirectional links between action and perception. The PhD project will conduct novel research into the concept of a shared system that is tuned to both action and perception. Use is made of behavioural and psychophysical tools. The PhD work is an opportunity to advance insights into key coding mechanisms that structure our everyday experiences with implications for the understanding of individual differences and atypical processing patterns.
