Accounting and forced labour eradication

Project Description

The discipline of accounting provides a diversity of approaches for uncovering and acting upon problematic behaviour within companies and along their supply chains. One issue that has recently drawn attention is labour conditions that can be characterised as forced labour. This PhD will investigate the how accounting, audit, assurance and reporting techniques can be used to address forced labour concerns that arise in corporations with global supply chains. There is a possibility that this work could be undertaken in partnership with a practice-based initiative of seafood producers who are seeking to eliminate forced labour from their supply chains.
