This research project is part of a series of activities carried out in collaboration with Dr Francesca Panin, researcher in neurosciences (Faculty of Medical Science)
The project will investigate novel methods of studying and analysing EEG, in particular in relation with motor control and biomechanics. EEGs are recording of electrical activities of the brain and their complex multi-dimensional nature makes them ideal candidates to be analysed using spectrograms and advanced techniques in the frequency domain.
The study could cover different aspects of the EEG sonification, to be discussed and agreed with the candidate, with the possibility of exploring the more theoretical aspects of the methodology, applications to the perception-action paradigm, impacts on coordination in healthy ageing and neuro-degenerative diseases.
If you wish to be considered for this project, you will need to apply for our Sound Engineering PhD. In the section of the application form entitled 'Outline research proposal', please quote the above title and include a research proposal.
