Advanced Systems-Modelling and Optimisation in Materials Science and Engineering

Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering

Applications accepted all year round  Self-Funded PhD Students Only

About the Project

Understanding the thermo-mechanical properties of metals (in hot/cold conditions) allows to achieve right-first-time production of these metals. We employ modelling/optimisation techniques to achieve this, in particular systems engineering

Engineering (12) Materials Science (24)

Funding Notes

This is a self-funded research project.
We require applicants to have either an undergraduate honours degree (1st) or MSc (Merit or Distinction) in a relevant science or engineering subject from a reputable institution.
Prospective candidates for this project should have a good degree in a relevant, numerate subject (such as maths and physics), including Matlab programming.
