About the Project

This research project presents an opportunity for individuals interested in tackling pressing environmental challenges related to wastewater treatment and resource recovery. With the growing global concern over water scarcity and pollution, there is a critical need for innovative approaches to wastewater treatment that not only effectively remove contaminants but also recover valuable resources from wastewater streams. This project aims to explore advanced techniques and technologies for wastewater treatment with a focus on resource recovery, including but not limited to nutrients, energy, and water. Candidates with backgrounds in building environment, Civil engineering, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or related fields are encouraged to apply and contribute to the development of sustainable solutions for wastewater management. The research will involve experimentation, modeling, and optimization of various treatment processes such as biological treatment, membrane filtration, and advanced oxidation. Additionally, candidates will have the opportunity to explore emerging technologies for wastewater treatment and resource recovery. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and hands-on research experience, candidates will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to address complex environmental challenges and make significant contributions to the field of wastewater treatment. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, providing candidates with the opportunity to join a dynamic research team dedicated to advancing sustainable water management practices.
