Diet influences many health conditions. However, keeping track of nutrition intake is difficult in despite of the increasing number of dietary applications available. In this project, the candidate will be expected to research the use of AI technologies, e.g. NLP, Text Analytics, and Generative AI to enable intuitive digital toolkit that enables users to keep track of their diet, and for nutritionists and researchers to adapt the toolkit applications to their research needs. This digital toolkit will also provide interactive capabilities to engage with the user in a more natural form, e.g. NLP-based conversation to encourage users in maintaining diet diary entries. The toolkit will include analytical tools to enable the analysis of entries and improving the user’s diet through “nudging” users towards developing and maintaining good eating habits.
