The fashion and textile industries conduct some of the most polluting practices on the planet. Many initiatives are striving to positively impact the issues the industry faces, in line with climate targets and UN sustainable development goals.
One approach is to look at natural ‘alternative’ resources in the development of textile and fashion products of the future. The projects in this field aim to explore these alternatives whilst considering potential impact of such developments on the current industry, consumer expectations and the environment.
Successful candidates will join a diverse community of fashion and textile researchers and academics, accessing the variety of textile and fashion laboratories to develop materials and processes which will drive the industry forward to a sustainable future.
