About the Project

Applications are invited for a self-funded project undertaking historical research on any aspect of the role/influence of French anarchism in the post-1945 period. Possible fields include (but are not limited to) the influence of anarchist ideas in political philosophy, the role of migrant or exiled communities resident in France, libertarian writers and artists, 1968 and the movement for autogestion, the resurgence of libertarian syndicalism, educational experiments, anarchist involvement in other social movements (eg pacifism, feminism, ecology, antifascism, ‘altermondialisation’), relations with other revolutionary currents, changes in the movement’s social constituency, strategic developments.

The successful candidate should have a 1st degree and/or MA in history, politics, French studies or other relevant discipline, and good knowledge of French language.
