Wednesday, May 15, 2024  Funded PhD Project (Students Worldwide)

About the Project

The laboratory of Auditory Neuroscience and Biophysics (www.kozlovlab.com) led by Dr Andriy Kozlov at the Department of Bioengineering, Imperial College London, invites applications for a fully funded PhD position, starting in October 2023 or soon thereafter. The overall aim of the project is to test experimentally predictions of the two-channel cooperative model of hair-cell mechanotransduction (Gianoli et al., PNAS, 2017).

The project will rely on cutting-edge optical methods; therefore, the successful candidate should have some training and experience in the field of optical engineering or a closely related field. For informal inquiries please contact Dr Andriy Kozlov.

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Expected start date: Until the position is filled

Funding notes:

This is a funded position for UK and international students for 3.5 years at the UKRI rate.

Keywords:

Hearing, mechanotransduction, hair cells, ion channels, interferometry, electrophysiology.
