About the Project

MmWave and Teraherz communications have been envisioned as the key technologies in 6G network to provide large bandwidth. Massive MIMO has been applied in these bands to provide significant beamforming gain and Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) has emerged as a sustainable solution to enhance wireless connectivity. This project will be focussed on 1) the channel estimation for the RIS aided massive

MIMO system considering THz bands based on our existing research on both the channel estimation and beamforming for the RIS-enabled mmWave systems; 2) the optimisation of the RIS-enabled channel by exploiting the features of RIS in THz; and 3)use optimisation techniques to adapt the number of the active elements, locations and the reflection patterns of the RIS to produce more desirable channels.
