About the Project

The area of research is flexible and the project can be designed to suit the interests of the successful candidate. Current and recent research in the group covers areas such as inquiry/industry/context- based laboratory learning, assessment, supporting the transition into university education, developing self-studying strategies, visualization/representation of chemical concepts using virtual reality, science, art and play, inclusive education in chemistry, public perceptions of science and opportunities for informal learning, citizen science and the history of chemistry in Australia. It is anticipated that the project will complement one of these areas.

The project academic supervisors are Associate Professor Siegbert ’Siggi’ Schmid, Professor Peter Rutledge, Dr Stephen George-Williams, Dr Alice Motion, Dr Reyne Pullen and Holly Kershaw.

Funding Notes

The research team is looking for a highly qualified individual in Chemistry or a related subject. Previous qualifications in either Psychology or Education related fields are also highly desirable. Please see the university webpage for specific mark requirements:

The scholarship is only open to an Australian or New Zeland citizens. However, internal scholarships can be applied for in order to have international fees waived.
