Dr Christopher Kent  Applications accepted all year round  Self-Funded PhD Students Only

About the Project

I am currently welcoming PhD application in two main areas, although I'm happy to consider applications in any of my areas of expertise (memory, perception, and attention).

Cognitive Psychology: How do we perceive, encode, and retrieve objects in the world around us? What role does attention play in these processes and how flexible is the allocation of attention. Typical tasks I use include multiple object tracking, identification, recognition, and categorization, and retrieval-based tasks (including learning). Methodologies used include behaviour experiments, psychophysics, mathematical modeling, eye tracking and mouse tracking.

Decolonisation & Diversity: How to we best ensure a decolonised and inclusive curriculum? What are the current barriers facing students and academics with engaging in decolonisation and why do we make our curriculum accessible and ready for future generations.

Always happy to hear from highly motivated students with their own research questions that overlap with my own.
