About the Project

Description
An exciting opportunity to join a new research group studying the cognitive mechanisms involved in skilled reading (in adults), as well as the development of children’s reading skills. The project runs under the supervision of Dr. Lisi Beyersmann and aims to uncover cognitive processes that are involved in reading fluently and automatically, with a particular focus on words with multiple morphemes. Applicants with a background in psychology, cognitive science, or related research areas are encouraged to apply. Prior expertise with experimental methods such as eye-tracking, masked priming, electro-encephalography (EEG), or magneto-encephalograph (MEG), as well as experience with the statistical software R are considered a plus. The candidate must be available to enrol and commence studies no later than 20th January 2021 for MRes Year 2 program and no later than 30th June 2021 for the PhD program.

Availability
This scholarship is available to eligible domestic or international candidates to undertake an MRes Year 2 (1-year) + PhD (3-year) program

Scholarship Components
The scholarship is comprised of a Tuition Fee Offset and a Living Allowance Stipend. The value and tenure of the scholarship is a “MQRES” full-time stipend rate of $28,092 per annum (in 2020 tax exempt - indexed annually).
